I'd like to keep this purchase in the family (sponsors) and am looking for enough pearl to do purfling on the top, back, rosette, fingerboard and headstock. YUCK, I know. Anyone got a good source?.

Interesting that you should enquire about Pearl In lay. I am looking into the possibilities of offering some soon. Not that this will help you currently!

Paul,
Andy DePaule of DePaule Supply (luthiersupply.com) has always sent me top_notch pearl at very competitive prices. His abalone rosettes are by far the best I have found, and he is a great guy and returns calls promptly.
Not a sponsor, but well worth checking out.

RescuePearl.com. Telephone (530) 676-2770. Ask for JoAnn!

I second that. JoAnn is great (although not a sponsor).

Rescue is sort of the 'retail front' for Duke of Pearl (they get their pearl from DoP but sell in smaller amounts). I've dealt with both DoP directly and Andy Depaule and would recommend both of them, they both have their advantages and disadvantages and it all depends on exactly what you need and how much of it you need.
